Abstract

The purchase and sale of products online has evolved in a positive way in today's society, not only being attractive to the young generation but also to those who did not use digital media. In the Ecuadorian market, this trend has not been alien, being also driven by a technological advance in the field of Internet, which improved coverage in almost all provinces of Ecuador. This predominant technological factor led businessmen to make the decision to add virtual functionality to their businesses, allowing them to be close to their customers.

The entry of the first mobile applications for delivery services since 2018 was evaluated in our country and how initially took over in the most important cities, such as Guayaquil, Quito, Cuenca among others. However, with the arrival of COVID-19 at the end of 2019, the use of these platforms increased considerably due to the mandatory confinement, also expanding to smaller cities. The restrictive measures decreed by the pandemic, which limited the normal transit of people and vehicles, began to positively change the coexistence and customs of people, who saw in delivery applications, a convenience to comfortably purchase the products they needed from anywhere. at an affordable cost.
