International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS), founded by Eduardo Torroja in 1959, is a non-profit organization. Its goal is to achieve further progress through an interchange of ideas among all those interested in lightweight structural systems such as lattice, tension, membrane, and shell structures, in particular architects, engineers, builders, and academics.
The Association welcomes to membership all individuals and organizations who share its aims.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Call for abstracts:27th January 2025 to 28th February 2025.
Abstracts. The abstract must be a single paragraph of text only (equations, figures or special characters may NOT be included) and should be limited to 10 to 15 lines of text in 11pt Times New Roman [Style: Normal]. NOTE: This abstract will appear with the paper's metadata in the online Proceedings on the IASS website, and the paper cannot be accepted for inclusion in the online proceedings unless this format is strictly followed and the one-paragraph, text-only rule for the abstract is observed.
The abstract must include keywords: Include a list in 10pt Times New Roman [Style: Keywords] of fewer than ten keywords or terms, separated by commas, using nouns or adjective(s)-plus-noun forms that are relatively standard in the field of spatial structures. (For example conceptual design, morphology, form-finding, optimization, concrete shells, metal spatial structures, membrane structures, and earthquake design.)
- Abstracts acceptance. The abstract acceptance will be published on 1st April 2025. Full paper submission will start from 1st April 2025.
- NOTE: If you want to apply for the 23rd Hangai Prize, please indicate it.
